YinsoAI Beginner’s Guide

You do not need music theory, instruments or production software to make your first song. Start with a memory, a feeling or a scene—and turn it into a complete piece of music.

For first-time creators · No music experience needed

Start with a sentence. Shape it into a song.

The short answer

Describe the genre, mood, pace, instruments, vocals and intended use. Turn Instrumental on or off, press Create, listen to the complete result, then improve the prompt one detail at a time.

01

What is AI-generated music?

AI-generated music is music created from instructions you give to a generative model. Those instructions are usually written as a prompt. A prompt can be short—“relaxed lo-fi music for a study vlog”—or a detailed creative brief with a theme, mood, instruments, vocal direction and song structure.

The result might be a complete vocal song, an instrumental track, a short piece of background music or the starting point for a larger creative project.

AI does not remove the need for creative judgment. It gives you a fast first version, but you still decide what the song is about, how it should feel, which result is worth keeping and what needs to change.

Think of AI as a fast creative partner. It gives you a first draft. Your taste and direction turn that draft into something personal.

02

What you need before you begin

You do not need finished lyrics or a professional production brief. Answer three simple questions before opening the generator.

01

What is the music about?

A story, person, memory, place or everyday moment: graduation, a coastal drive, a birthday, a podcast intro or a product video.

02

What should the listener feel?

Choose one clear direction: warm and nostalgic, quietly hopeful, playful, tense but controlled, dreamy or triumphant.

03

Where will the music be used?

A full song needs room for verses and a chorus. Video music needs a steady rhythm; a podcast intro should be concise and recognizable.

03

Choose your path: vocals or instrumental

Leave the Instrumental switch off when you want a song with vocals. Turn it on when you need music without singing.

Singer recording a vocal performance in a music studio

Create a complete vocal song

Best when words and the singer carry the idea: personal songs, story-based songs, gifts and tracks with a memorable chorus.

A warm indie-pop song about graduating and saying goodbye to close friends. Soft female vocal, acoustic guitar, gentle drums, nostalgic verses and a hopeful, memorable chorus.

Music producer wearing headphones and creating an instrumental track on a laptop

Create instrumental music

Best for videos, podcasts, presentations, games and livestreams where singing could compete with narration.

Uplifting cinematic electronic instrumental for a coastal road-trip vlog. Airy synths, driving drums, bright guitar textures, medium-fast tempo, adventurous and expansive.

How to write a good AI music prompt

A useful prompt gives the AI a clear direction without trying to control every note. Combine five kinds of information.

1Genre

Use pop, rock, jazz or electronic—or get more specific with indie pop, dream pop, lo-fi hip-hop, cinematic ambient or acoustic soul.

2Mood

Begin with one main feeling and, if needed, one contrasting shade: nostalgic but hopeful, dark and restless, gentle and reassuring.

3Tempo and energy

You do not need exact BPM. Slow and spacious, steady mid-tempo groove, fast and energetic, or a gradual build are enough.

4Instruments and vocals

Name two or three important sounds: acoustic guitar and soft piano; airy synths and warm bass; an intimate vocal with restrained delivery.

5Scene or intended use

Explain why the music exists: a sunset travel vlog, podcast intro, birthday gift or product demo.

Prompt formula

Genre + Mood + Tempo + Instruments or vocals + Scene

Warm indie pop, nostalgic but hopeful, medium tempo, acoustic guitar and soft female vocal, written as a graduation goodbye song with a memorable chorus.

05

How to make your first AI song in YinsoAI

The basic workflow is short. Most creative work happens in the prompt and in the decisions you make after listening.

  1. 1

Start in Simple with one sentence

Open YinsoAI and stay on the Simple tab. Write the idea in natural language—no music terminology required. Try: “A bright electronic track for a travel vlog, energetic drums, airy synths, no vocals.” Then press Create.

  2. 2

    Add the details that matter

Clarify the genre, emotion, speed, standout sounds and the scene where the music will be used. If a short description feels thin, Enhance Prompt expands it into a fuller one you can edit before generating.

  3. 3

    Choose vocals or instrumental

Leave the Instrumental switch off for a vocal song. Turn it on when dialogue, narration or the visual story should remain in front of the music.

  4. 4

Switch to Advanced when you want control

The Advanced tab separates Styles from Lyrics, so you can write your own words and steer the sound independently. Exclude styles is where you name what you do not want—noise, distortion, off-key vocals.

  5. 5

Generate and listen to the full track

Do not judge only the opening seconds. Listen for the overall mood, vocal or lead sound, rhythm, energy changes and the section you would want to hear again. Compare Models runs the same prompt through several models so you can hear the difference in one screen.

  6. 6

Refine one detail at a time, then keep the prompt

Identify the largest mismatch first: change “sad” to “bittersweet but quietly hopeful,” slow the tempo or simplify the arrangement—then compare versions. Save the prompt that worked; it becomes the starting point for your next track.

Four AI music prompts you can copy

Use these as starting points, then replace the story, mood or intended use with your own details.

01

Graduation goodbye song

Best for: A complete song with vocals

A warm indie-pop song about graduating and saying goodbye to close friends. Soft female vocal, acoustic guitar, gentle drums, nostalgic verses and a hopeful, memorable chorus.

02

Travel vlog soundtrack

Best for: Instrumental video background music

Uplifting cinematic electronic instrumental for a coastal road-trip vlog. Airy synths, driving drums, bright guitar textures, medium-fast tempo, adventurous and expansive.

03

Personal birthday song

Best for: A playful music gift

A joyful modern pop birthday song for my best friend. Playful verses about our shared memories, handclaps, bright piano, warm group vocals and a catchy sing-along chorus.

04

Podcast introduction

Best for: Short instrumental branding music

A clean, concise podcast intro with soft electronic percussion, warm bass and a curious melodic hook. Modern, intelligent and friendly. Instrumental, with a simple ending.

07

How to improve an AI-generated song

Diagnose the problem before generating again. “I do not like it” is difficult to act on. “The arrangement is too busy for a voice-over” gives you a clear next edit.

The style feels too generic

Add one or two concrete details: a subgenre, musical era, distinctive instrument or specific scene.

The emotion feels wrong

Replace broad words with precise ones: bittersweet but comforting, quietly confident, restless and unresolved, warm and slightly nostalgic.

The arrangement is too crowded

Ask for a minimal arrangement and name only the sounds you need—especially for podcasts and videos with dialogue. Exclude styles is the fastest way to rule out what keeps coming back.

The vocal does not fit

Describe tone, energy and delivery, not only gender: soft and intimate, clear and youthful, raw and slightly rough, or a warm group vocal.

The track is forgettable

Build the song around a specific image: an unopened message, the last train home or a familiar kitchen after everyone has left.

You can hear it but cannot describe it

Run the reference track through Music Prompt Analyzer. It returns the genre, instruments and production words for a sound you already like, and you can edit that description instead of starting from nothing.

08

Common beginner mistakes

A prompt that is too vague

‘Make a good song’ does not define good. Add a mood, genre and use case.

Conflicting directions

Calm meditation music, aggressive drums and horror atmosphere compete with each other.

Changing everything at once

Change one important variable so you know what improved the result.

Judging only the introduction

Listen to the complete track; the chorus or energy build may arrive later.

Ignoring the intended use

A strong standalone track can still be wrong for a podcast, video or client project.

09

What can you make with AI music?

Personal songs

Turn birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, shared memories or unsent messages into vocal songs.

Video soundtracks

Create instrumental music for vlogs, Shorts, Reels, product demos and story-based videos.

Creator audio

Make podcast intros, livestream backgrounds, game concepts and early ideas for brand audio.

Can AI-generated music be used commercially?

The licence is bound at the moment a song is generated, based on your account status at that moment. Songs generated while your Pro membership is active are yours to use commercially—and they stay that way after the membership ends. Songs generated on a free account are personal use only, permanently; subscribing afterwards does not licence them retroactively.

  • Free generations carry no watermark
  • Free generations are not shortened—you hear the full arrangement
  • Free generations use the same models paid members use
  • You cannot upgrade to clear a track you already made; generate it again while the membership is active
  • Commercial use is broader than streaming: brand videos, client delivery, ads and monetised video all count

Keep a record of the prompt, creation date and account status. For client work, paid campaigns or formal distribution, review the current YinsoAI terms before publishing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need music experience to make music with AI?

No. You can begin with a natural-language description of the idea, mood and intended use. Music terminology can add precision, but it is not required for a first song.

Can I create instrumental music without vocals?

Yes. Turn on the Instrumental switch before generating, then focus the prompt on mood, tempo, instruments and the scene where the music will be used.

How long should an AI music prompt be?

One or two clear sentences are enough for a first result. A longer prompt is useful only when the added information changes an important musical decision.

Should I write the lyrics before generating?

Not always. Switch to the Advanced tab when specific names, words or memories must appear, and write them in the Lyrics field. For exploration or instrumental music, a description in Simple is enough.

Why does the first result not match my idea?

The prompt may be broad, conflicting or missing one important detail. Find the biggest mismatch—mood, tempo, vocal tone or instrumentation—and change that part first.

Can I use an artist’s name in my prompt?

It is safer and more creatively useful to describe the genre, era, vocal texture, instruments, rhythm and emotional tone instead of requesting an exact imitation of a living artist.

Is the free version watermarked or shortened?

Neither. Free generations have no watermark, are not cut short, and run on the same models paid members use. What a membership adds is the commercial licence.

Can I use AI-generated music commercially?

Songs generated while a Pro membership is active can be used commercially, and that right survives the membership ending. Songs made on a free account stay personal-use only, even if you subscribe later—so generate the final version while the membership is active.
