- How does power metal differ from heavy metal?
- Harmonic color and mood. Heavy metal leans minor with a darker atmosphere. Power metal leans major with bright rising melodies, running faster but lighter in tone, and its emotion is triumph rather than confrontation. Same lineup: one presses down, the other lifts off.
- How do I keep it fast but not heavy?
- Prompt "continuous double kick with light tone, major-key harmony, bright rather than thick guitar tone, keyboards or orchestra underneath." Avoid "deeply down-tuned" and "thick" — those pull the result toward thrash or death metal.
- What should I specify for the vocal?
- Write "soaring tenor, wide range, chest voice, layered choir in the chorus." The voice is the soul of the style and must stay clean and technically capable; any growled element breaks the brightness the whole genre depends on.
